The Skateboarding Foundation was established to introduce the benefits of skateboarding to young people in the UK.
We were registered with the Charity Commission as a UK charity in April 2016. Click here to see our certificate of registration.
Our vision is a world where all young people are provided the opportunity to fulfil their potential.
Our mission is to help young people, especially but not exclusively through skateboarding, to develop their skills and abilities to enable them to fulfil their potential and participate in society as mature and responsible individuals.
The following founding members and Board of Trustees are responsible for the governance, strategy and management of The Skateboarding Foundation:
Paul Rompani (Co-Founder / Chairman)
A charity CEO with 20 years experience of the not-for-profit sector, a son who skateboards and an interest in youth development.
Dom Kolodziej (Co-Founder)
A skateboarder of 20 years who began teaching skateboarding to kids in 2010 and started fundraising for UK children’s charities through skateboarding in 2011.
A London based film editor with a passion for skateboarding, Charlie has also worked in the skate industry since 2005 as a skate event supervisor for Tribe Enterprise, which involved opening skateparks and setting up events all over Britain. He has spent the past four years building a skateboarding academy that runs during school holidays. He believes that many children would love the opportunity to have an introduction to the sport but lack confidence and funding.
A skateboarder of 20 years who established a skateboard and retail store YEUK in 2012.
We will soon be recruiting new trustees. Please contact us if you are interested. Terms of Reference for members of the Board of Trustees (clarifying their responsibilities, how often they meet etc.), are available on request.
